Hello! I’m Mertcan Aydoğmuş, a third-year Industrial Design student at Middle East Technical University (METU). I’m originally from Yalova/Turkey, and I’ve always been fascinated by the way design shapes our interactions with products and spaces. My passion for design lies in the balance between functionality and creativity, which I constantly explore through my work.
In my spare time, I enjoy photography—particularly using my Fujifilm camera to capture the world around me. I’m also into fitness and I love brewing a perfect cup of coffee. Coffee-making has become a bit of an art for me, and I love experimenting with different techniques and flavors.
One of my favorite design projects was creating an Instagrammable area for a brand. It was exciting to blend practicality and aesthetics to create a visually striking, functional space. My strong skills include 3D modeling and prototyping, particularly with tools like Fusion 360, which help me bring my ideas to life.
I aspire to work as a designer in the defense industry, where I can combine my design skills with advanced engineering to create innovative solutions.
Besides design, I’m a huge fan of watching sociological, political, and philosophical videos on YouTube, which help me stay curious and informed.. s My favorite TV series is Black Mirror for its thought-provoking stories about technology. A fun fact: my favorite spot at METU is the Devrim Stadium, where I often go to relax and get inspired.
