An Idea For Your Brief

Hello Team 3, I am Eylül from Team 10! I have read the brief provided to you and I think it is a very good brief. It is up to your imagination and it points out a very important problem for seniors. I just wanted to give you an idea and examples of how you can approach this brief. This is just for helping!

To focus on the cognitive stimulation of seniors I would recommend a Turkish Board game called “OKAY101”. In order to outplay opponents, OKAY101 requires you to memorize rules, numbers, and strategies. In order to prevent age-related cognitive decline, this active memory engagement helps improve working memory as well as short-term memory. It is played by 4 people. OKAY101 promotes social interaction, which is essential for preserving cognitive function. Additionally, this engagement lessens emotions of isolation and loneliness, which have been connected to cognitive impairment. By encouraging players to spot patterns and sequences on their tiles, the game improves their recognition, spatial, and visual skills. Overall it is a very fun and common game played by Turkish seniors and young people too. 🙂

You can think of creating a set-up for this game, including chairs, the table, where the OKAY101 will be stored, etc. I hope this sparked an inspiration or helped you in some way. I am looking forward to seeing your final project!

Love, Eylül

Oh!This is really helpful for our design, but as a designer, we need to really think about how to make this little game more simple and interesting, and this needs to add our own thinking, because older people are very expensive to learn, you know, they always like to do what they are familiar with. We will make it better to use and offer it as a design to the Spanish team.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Yours,Qihao
