Here is the design idea form Pantea!
This design mainly consists of a transparent, light-diffusing umbrella with lighting. The lights reflect from the umbrella, so the raindrops cause a charming light sight around the user. Mainly on the ground and the user. As for what people might think of walking around with such an umbrella, the design should maintain its acceptability by adjusting the lights to a more natural and less eye-catching illumination level.
The primary colour of the light is a warm, natural yellow, which will also give the feeling of warmth. The colours might be switchable.
The lights will be located on the umbrella’s tip towards the outer surface or integrated with the umbrella’s structure. Thus, the light will be directed onto the umbrella to achieve illumination. It is supposed to look as if the umbrella itself is glowing rather than the sources attached.
The lights might require water protection. A waterproof lighting system could be used. Or the system could be secured by water-tight protection around it.
The umbrella should be cane type. So that the cables of the light could be placed and secured inside easily.
As for the electricity source, we preferred a chargeable system rather than batteries.
There are some issues we would like to have your opinion:
- Where do you think the lights should be located?
- Would you like for the umbrella to be cane type or folding?
- How would it be met by your community?
- We thought of keeping it simple, but would you have any additions?
