Summary of the briefing videocall
On November 14, 2024, we met with Team 4 to discuss both projects. The team members were very helpful in suggesting which aspects of our project, “Ghestock,” could benefit from improvement. Additionally, they were kind enough to publish their feedback on the blog. As for the video game, we, as members of Team 20, provided feedback, particularly on the names of their characters. We pointed out that, once the project is completed, we would be happy to help them refine the Italian names, as they are currently not written correctly. Furthermore, we shared our thoughts on the project we chose among those they proposed, suggesting that some features from the other projects be integrated into the one we liked the most. Finally, we agreed on future deliverables. It was truly a pleasure to collaborate with them, as they showed great kindness and availability.
Add points
Firstly, I need to know the features and advantages of this product, which will be highlighted in the video. Secondly, I need to know in what scenarios elderly people will use additional features. For example, their proposed magnetic components and detachable handles. This helps me better showcase them in the video. Then, how the image of the "little emperor" in their plan interacts and matches with the walking of the elderly after improvement. This helps with visualization in videos. If there is any additional content that needs to be added, we will post it on the website. Looking forward to and thanking you for your reply.
Design concept feedback
The overall appearance of the first type of cane is tough and mechanical, like an electronic technology product. Can elderly people accept this style. The design concept of "Little Emperor" is very interesting, as it increases interactivity and has a built-in GPS. Can you list in detail which elements that elderly people like to add. But the image of the Little Emperor needs some improvement and renaming. Chinese elderly people prefer auspicious things, which can be changed to images such as the Little God of Wealth or the Little Lucky Star. Most of the styling images we see are part of a cane, do they have more options when combined into a shape? The design idea of adding LED lights on crutches can help elderly people walk more safely in low light conditions. The lighting selection, but the size of the rope hanging below the handle is too long and does not reflect the functionality of this part. The position of this switch should be designed to consider whether elderly people may frequently accidentally touch it while using crutches. The final design is the most suitable solution for the design requirements, and the magnetic components and detachable handle design are excellent. But can the suction force of the magnet be strong enough to support the elderly to stand up, and will strong magnets have any impact on the elderly's body. In addition, there is more information about adjusting the extension and retraction of the cane. Adjusting the length is a good thing, but the design of each section cannot meet the needs of every elderly person well. This can be further optimized. The image described in the first article. The image described in Article 3. The image described in Article 4.

Design brief change
After consultation, we have revised a portion of the timeline in the design brief, which includes: Creative brainstorming: Team members brainstorm and propose a variety of design options, including structure, function, user interface, etc. The two sides report the design plan to each other and further communicate. (Deadline: November 6)
Client Brief Team 20
Hello Team 20, can you please share your Client Project Brief with your Designers Team 04 https://theglobalstudio.eu/2024-02 as they cannot start the next week’s task of designing initial solutions. Erik
Design briefing
Project Overview With the intensification of global population aging, the number of elderly people continues to grow, and the demand for assistive devices is also increasing. The market potential for standing canes is enormous, especially for the elderly who require assistance. The rapid development of intelligent technology provides the possibility for the upgrade of canes. This project is a more stable, safe, and convenient cane designed to support both hands when grandparents stand up while sitting, with a four legged structure at the bottom. Project background My grandfather is 94 years old, quite old. My grandmother passed away a long time ago, and my grandfather lives alone. He likes to live in his old house because there are his old friends nearby, so he doesn't have to live in high-rise buildings and it's very convenient to go out. Because he is older and has difficulty with his legs, his neighbors and old friends often come to his house to chat and have tea with him. Our house is very close to my grandfather's house, it only takes 4 minutes to ride a bike. My mother goes to my grandfather's house every day to visit him, chat with him, or bring some homemade dumplings, buns, etc.Grandfather's overall physical condition is good, and he is able to cook simple meals, boil water, and occasionally walk a short distance out to buy a small amount of food. But one of his knees often hurts, to the point where the leg is deformed and unable to walk normally, requiring the use of crutches. His crutch was originally made of simple wooden material, and later used aluminum alloy material. But they all have no extra functions or structures. When he sits under most chairs, the crutch armrest is located at the height of his chest. When standing up, he needs to press down on the armrest harder, and there is only one armrest. He often stands up with the other hand supporting nearby objects. In addition, the bottom of his cane only has one fulcrum, and when he presses down forcefully, the cane often becomes unstable and tilts, which is very dangerous. Here are photos of my grandfather's daily life. The first one is a photo of my grandfather and my sister's child, two adorable people who are 93 years apart in age. The second photo is of my grandfather on his birthday. The third photo is of my grandfather resting in the yard. Preference My grandfather likes dark colors, such as black, dark blue, and gray. Most of his clothes are also of this color, and there are not many patterns, which are relatively simple. He prefers aluminum alloy crutches because he needs them for a long time, and aluminum alloy crutches are lighter.Sometimes there may be situations where there is no lighting, the environment is relatively dark, and coupled with his advanced age, his vision deteriorates, making it difficult for him to see the road clearly. A cane is crucial for a grandfather who…
