Personal Profile – Scarlete Romero

Great! I am late. Here we go again.

I was born in Ecuador, a country of breathtaking landscapes and incredible food. Life’s contrasts, from travels and relocations to the diverse personalities around me, have taught me to appreciate balance. Maybe that’s why I love blending everything: I’m the type who enjoys deep reflections wrapped in comedy, laughing until I cry, and crying while I laugh. I’ll eat dessert while still finishing my main course, love mango with salt, enjoy sunshine with a sprinkle of rain, and listen to both cumbias and classical music. I’m all about engineering, but also design. I like to think, “The magic lies in the mix,” and I’m always on the lookout for it. Also, everything I do is dedicated to my grandmother.

Right now, I’m studying Industrial Design Engineering in San Sebastián and sharing an apartment with five of my best friends.

When it comes to design, I ask for both depth and fun—the same as I do with life. I’m detail-oriented and strive for consistency across all aspects of a design. I love when products tell a story, and I’m also passionate about Design for Manufacturing, materials and all that stuff.

Once I graduate, I hope to work in Finland or another Nordic country. I’m really curious about their lifestyles and perspectives.

    Hello Scarlete, what a banner!
What is the idea behind it?
Whose idea was it to make it dynamic? It looks very impressive
I am looking forward to your reply, Erik

Hi Erik, Mango and Orange are both juicy fruits, and the banner design dynamics were inspired by this concept.
Though opposite in flavor, these fruits produce vibrant, fluid juices—just like our minds and ideas when designing, which stay dynamic and adapt to whatever is needed in design.
I am sure we both contributed to the banner concept, I simply brought it to life as best I could. I’m glad you like it!
