After intense discussions among the 18 groups, they presented to us their final plan, which was Yanping’s second design concept. They expressed appreciation for the shape of the thermal flask and said that their target customers liked this style of cup.

I. Appearance Design

Overall Style:

Following the traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain style, the overall appearance presents a rustic, elegant and highly oriental aesthetic. The style of the cup sleeve can be designed with some Russian elements. The pattern color is gold, which complements the leather texture.

Details of the Cup Sleeve and Magnetic Pouch:

The design of the cup sleeve still pays attention to matching the style of the cup body. Soft, light-colored and traditional Chinese patterns are selected, such as plain silk with hidden patterns or plain linen with simple geometric patterns. There may be some exquisite hand-embroidery elements on the surface of the cup sleeve, such as small plum blossom embroidery or simple Chinese auspicious character embroidery, to further enhance the overall Chinese style.

The magnetic pouch on the cup sleeve will have a traditional Chinese plate buckle design on the bag mouth, which is both beautiful and convenient to open and close. The surface of the bag may have some light printed patterns, such as delicate floral patterns or simple Chinese geometric patterns, making the overall appearance more refined and beautiful, and integrating with the Chinese style of the cup body and cup sleeve.

II. Function Design

Insulation Function:

The ceramic material itself has a relatively strong thermal conductivity, so in order to achieve good insulation effects, a high-efficiency vacuum insulation layer will be set inside the ceramic cup body. This vacuum insulation layer can effectively block heat conduction, allowing hot water to remain at a suitable temperature for a long time in the cup, so that customers can enjoy warm beverages at any time, whether it is in the cold Russian winter or during daily travel.

Multi-functional lid:

In order to increase the practicality of the insulated cup, a dual-function lid is designed. In daily life, people often have different drinking scenarios, and when they need to share beverages or drink a small amount of water alone, the lid can be designed to function as a separate drinking cup, which can meet this demand and also be convenient to carry, without the need to prepare an extra cup, thus improving the user’s convenience during use. The edge of the lid will be rounded for a comfortable drinking experience. At the same time, the sealing design of the lid and cup body is also critical, and a special rubber sealing component will be used to ensure that the lid is tightly closed when it covers the cup mouth, effectively preventing heat loss and spills, and ensuring the insulation effect and safety of the beverage.

Cup sleeve and magnetic suction pouch function:

Increasing the cup sleeve is not only to protect the insulated cup, but also to consider the customers’ eating habits by designing a magnetic suction pouch on the cup sleeve. Russians love candies and some snacks, and this small pouch can be convenient for them to store these snacks, so that they can easily obtain their favorite foods during travel, work, or leisure time.

III. Material Design

Body and lid materials:

The body and lid are made of high-quality ceramic materials. The ceramic used will have high purity, low density, and a fine texture to ensure that the body and lid form a uniform structure during firing, thus having good mechanical properties and are less prone to cracking, deformation, etc. The ceramic material itself also has the advantage of being non-toxic, odorless, and chemically stable, which can ensure the safety and hygiene of the beverage, allowing users to drink with peace of mind. In the selection of ceramic materials, reference will be made to the types of ceramic used in traditional blue and white porcelain production, such as kaolin ceramic, to try to restore the texture and flavor of traditional blue and white porcelain.

Cup sleeve and magnetic pouch materials:

The cup sleeve material, as mentioned earlier, can be selected from soft, light-colored fabrics with traditional Chinese patterns.

The magnetic pouch material is selected for waterproof, durable, and coordinated fabrics such as silk with a waterproof coating or thick linen. An internal magnetic device is set up, and the magnetic device uses high-strength, small-volume permanent magnets to ensure that the pouch can be firmly attached to the cup sleeve.

Overall Dimensions: 21cm x 6.5cm.

The overall shape of our final design is inspired by blue-and-white porcelain, as our client specifically requested designs with elements of blue-and-white porcelain. The cup lid can be detached and used as a tea cup for easy drinking. To make the thermos more portable when going out, we created a leather cup sleeve. This sleeve not only facilitates carrying but also provides protection. To meet the client’s need to carry sweets like sugar and cookies when going out for tea, we built a magnetic device into the cup sleeve that holds an external magnetic pouch for these items.

I am from Zibo City, Shandong Province, and I studied at Shandong University of Art &Design.

My favorite activity is watching suspenseful horror novels and movies. For example, dead silence, spiritualism and resentment. I might be a little scared after reading it, but these things are addictive, aren’t they? About the novel, there is no very famous. Because most of the novels I read are suspense novels written by some excellent authors on Chinese fiction websites. If you are interested in these, you can discuss them with me. We can recommend each other.

In addition, I also chase stars, which is my happiest activity. 黄子弘凡（Lars）, he is a singer, and his personality is very optimistic and cheerful. Whenever I see him, I am also contagious by his optimism and happiness. He’s also a top student, graduated from Berklee College of Music, and it’s because he’s smart that I think he’s very charismatic. And he’s still a fortunate people, and I’m very lucky that I see him as my patron saint.

Next, let me introduce you to my hometown – Zibo. It is an inland city located in eastern China. My hometown is famous for its beauty and food.

For example, one of the eight major cuisines of China – Shandong cuisine. Boshan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province is the birthplace of Shandong cuisine. Since the pre-Qin period, Boshan has been a place that is good at cooking, and to this day, there is still such a saying in the local area, “every family has half a knife, and the city is full of fragrant dishes”, which shows how deeply rooted Boshan’s culinary career is in the hearts of the people. For a long time,  Boshan cuisine has been like a secret treasure of Shandong people.  Boshan crispy pot,  Boshan tofu box,  Boshan fried meat, Boshan meatballs and other dishes have all been reported on CCTV.  Boshan crispy pot is only favored by Boshan people. Cabbage, kelp, fish, tofu…… Simmer for seven or eight hours, sweet and sour taste, dig a plate after cooling, make people appetite, with a crisp pot, there is a taste of the New Year.  Boshan fried meat has become a famous part of Boshan cuisine because of its fresh and crispy flavor, the meat section is brown and fragrant, and it is fragrant and oily, but not greasy; The skin is crispy, the middle is crispy, and the inside is soft and glutinous, pliable and sweet.

There are many delicious things in Zibo. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Zibo barbecue. Once upon a time, many people came from all over the world for Zibo barbecue. To eat Zibo barbecue, there must be a double-layer small charcoal stove on the table. The soul of Zibo barbecue is a small cake that looks ordinary. Pick up a small cake, dip it in sesame salt, roll it into a skewer, add a shallot. This is an important step.

Of course, in addition to the food, the beautiful scenery of Zibo is as intoxicating as our great rivers and mountains in China, and as for how enjoyable it is, you still need to experience it yourself!  You see! This is a landmark building in Zibo, it looks like a tower, but in fact, its core is a bookstore, known as “the most beautiful bookstore in China”  Zhongshu Bookstore. The Haidai Building, Zhongshu Bookstorein the design layout into the ancient capital of Qi, ceramic glaze, natural cave and many other Zibo elements, the unique Qi cultural characteristics are quite eye-catching – the entrance of the front hall on the first floor, a U-shaped bookshelf wall on both sides, covered with tiles, although it is decorative, but let the modern space full of antiquity.

Regarding the scenery, Zibo Red Leaf Persimmon Rock Scenic Area is a mountain-themed resort park close to nature and wild and dreamy, with a forest coverage rate of 95%, especially in autumn, when 10,000 acres of native red leaf forests are dyed, magnificent and stunning. The scenic area has entertainment projects to meet the needs of all ages, and it is a “four-season scenic spot” for outings in Zibo, with a hundred flowers in spring and night tours in summer, and red leaves in autumn and snow in winter.
