Hello, Team 12🎉, we have made this sketch according to your request and it contains our understanding of flower POTS If you do not want to associate the phone, we can remove this step. In addition, we think that the display screen is still necessary. Many physical buttons can be replaced on the display screen, and the state can be intuitively expressed through small expressions. The following is mainly divided into two parts, one is to use the story version, the other is to ask questions, need to communicate with you.🙂 ⚪The first is our function: ------------------------------------------------------------ User usage scenario: A beautiful day to get up, see the plant by the bed sent out a "distress signal", it is great to know its state for the first time. (Interactive reminder and feedback system: This feature solves memory or cognitive challenges that older customers may face to help them take better care of their plants. With timely reminders, customers can ensure that plants are properly cared for and thus enjoy gardening without fear of neglect.) ------------------------------------------------------------ According to the interface water state watering, you can finally know how much water you need to pour, and you don't have to worry about too much or not enough pouring. (Customer needs addressed: This feature provides valuable guidance for older customers who may be less familiar with plant care knowledge. It reduces the risk of over - or under-care caused by not understanding the needs of plants, making plant care simpler and more scientific.) ------------------------------------------------------------ You can see its humidity condition, you can also spend leisure time with it, listen to music.Life feels more interesting and there is more life in the home. (Addressed customer needs: Natural sounds help relieve stress and anxiety, which is a very practical feature for older customers seeking peace of mind. It can help elderly clients spice up their lives and alleviate loneliness while caring for their beloved plants. It enhances the emotional value of the pot, making it a tool that can enhance the quality of life.) ------------------------------------------------------------ Not every day the sun is high, cloudy days lack of light do not worry, put our modular light to supplement it. ------------------------------------------------------------ Be sure to charge or replace the battery. (This design makes it easy for users to move flowerpots without worrying about the limitations of the power cord, whether from indoors to outdoors or between rooms. At the same time, the use of rechargeable batteries reduces the difficulty of charging the use of intelligent functions, and reduces the trouble and cost of replacing the battery, which is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. This portable design makes the customer's life more comfortable and comfortable, and can better enjoy the fun of gardening.) ------------------------------------------------------------ ⚪Problems encountered during the sketch drawing process : ① Whether the flower pot needs a display screen. ② Flower pot button Do you prefer a physical button or a display button? ③Do you have any requirements for the size of the flowerpot? All we know so…
hello Team 01, you have received feedback from your Clients seven days ago but I cannot see any updated design to be hand over to your Clients. Can you please inform your Clients when will you be uploading the finish design documentation so that your Clients can test and evaluate your designs with the intended users? Erik
We truly appreciate your ideas and hard work. Thank you for your thoughtful communication and collaboration with us throughout this process as the designer. At this stage, we’d like to share our group’s collective feedback based on your initial ideas. Below, we will outline the features and concepts we’d like to incorporate into the final product, drawing inspiration directly from the thoughtful and creative elements each of you proposed. We believe these refined features will create a product that is both practical and uniquely tailored to meet our user’s needs. Our Main Selection Is YURUI's IDEAS. But, we expect you to include these features given below: Adjustable Light System (Inspired by Fuyuan): We’re incorporating Fuyuan's suggestion for an additional light source for the plant. However, we’re emphasizing that the light should have an adjustable height to accommodate the plant’s growth over time, ensuring it’s positioned correctly as the plant grows. Nature Sounds Integration (Inspired by Fuyuan): Fuyuan’s idea of adding nature sounds is included in a simplified form, allowing users to control these sounds directly on the pot with a button rather than relying on an app. This makes it more practical and accessible for an elderly user. Cultural Decoration Options (Inspired by Yirui): From Yirui’s idea of using Turkish motifs, we suggest applying these cultural patterns selectively on specific areas of the pot to create a clean, aesthetically pleasing design that honors the user’s cultural background. Interactive Reminder and Feedback System (Inspired by Yirui): Taking inspiration from Yirui’s concept of an interactive pot, we propose a simple reminder system that notifies the user about watering or care needs. We suggest implementing an intuitive, single-button interaction to keep it straightforward. Humidity and Temperature Monitoring (Inspired by Yirui): Drawing from Yirui’s sensor-based features, we propose a simplified version that monitors humidity and temperature, providing basic feedback in a way that’s easy for the user to understand. Rechargeable Battery for Portability (Inspired by Yirui): Yirui’s idea of using a rechargeable battery for portability is included, allowing the elderly user to move the pot easily and ensuring it remains user-friendly. Modular and Customizable Sizing Options (Inspired by Yirui): Inspired by Yirui’s idea of modular sizing for different plant types, we propose offering two size options to accommodate various plants while maintaining a customizable and accessible design. Good luck in the project!
We are happy to share our finalized brief! After the updates we wanted to share it under the title of "Finalized Design Brief" directly. Best regards, Team 12. LATEST UPDATES ARE GIVEN AT THE BOTTOM BRIEF: For our project, we are seeking a smart “planter/plant pot” design that enriches the daily lives of elderly individuals and carries cultural significance. The planter should monitor the plant’s health, have automatic watering capabilities, and be user-friendly, and customizable. Additionally, it should include interactive features that support elderly individuals in forming emotional connections with plants and maintaining this ritual. Intended Users: Grandparents. (Our primary users are grandparents, specifically individuals aged 60 and above. This age group encompasses diverse lifestyles, from those living independently to those sharing a home with family members.) Target Market: 60+ Elderly Individuals.Note: We aim to cater to a broad spectrum of elderly users, with a focus on those who live alone, elderly couples, and those living with their families, in that order. We place great emphasis on the well-being of elderly individuals, particularly those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. Recognizing their need for companionship and communication, we aim to develop products that not only assist with daily tasks but also offer emotional support through a connection with plants. Many elderly people enjoy talking to their plants, and our plant system can enhance this experience by providing gentle reminders for care and even self-watering when necessary. This reduces the anxiety of forgetfulness while offering a comforting presence they can interact with. By fostering this interaction, we aim to make plant care a soothing and enjoyable routine that brings comfort and joy. Whether living alone, with a partner, or in a family setting, plants become a source of emotional connection, giving elderly individuals a sense of purpose and companionship. Our goal is to strengthen this bond by ensuring plant care is easy and accessible, allowing them to enjoy the benefits without physical strain or worry. Our approach ensures that each user group is supported in maintaining their independence, nurturing their routines, and celebrating the small joys of life, whether through interaction with family or personal activities. EXPECTED FORM: We’re excited to see the development of the application unfold, and we look forward to viewing sketches and 3D models of the concepts as they take shape, before the main prototype (The prototype at the end might be in the scale of 1/2 or 1/1) is done. It’s important to us to visually follow the creative journey and see the ideas come to life! PROBLEM DEFINITION: The goal is to design a smart planter that enriches the daily lives of elderly individuals and carries cultural significance. This planter should have an aesthetic and customizable structure; it should reflect the cultural sentiment that elderly individuals would want to have in their homes, adopting a maximalist design philosophy. Function: The planter could be equipped with sunlight and moisture sensors, allowing it to monitor the health of the plant. Additionally, it could be able to provide status notifications through voice prompts, making it easier for…
Initial design concept 1.Intelligent flowerpot pet systemDesign highlight: The flowerpot is only equipped with a display screen integrated with the flowerpot wall and a mechanical button. After the button is pressed, intelligent functions are achieved through intelligent voice interaction, improving usability. Provide positive feedback through voice interaction when users appreciate it. It can be connected to a smart terminal via Bluetooth and operated on the system through a mobile app.How to use: Internal input of positive praise entries. When positive words are recognized in the elderly’s speech, a cute and happy expression will appear on the display screen, and beautiful sound effects will be played. In order to enhance the sense of achievement of the elderly during use, the flowerpot will record the number of compliments received. If there is a fluctuation in the frequency of the elderly’s compliments, the flowerpot will provide special feedback. For example, if the frequency is higher than normal, the flowerpot may play a long piece of music or continuously display special gorgeous colors. Conversely, the flowerpot may turn into a melancholic color or display a pitiful and coquettish expression.Intelligent systems can be operated in the mobile app system, and family members or users can set response terms and corresponding expressions based on the user’s language habits. According to the user’s preferences, feedback sound effects can be set, and of course, children’s voices can also be recorded. Family members can also create a family group in the app, like leaving a phone message, to leave a message about the flowerpot. When the user approaches the flowerpot, the message will be played. The sensing system of each flowerpot acts as an independent entity, and users can give different names to different plants. They accompany users like some little elves, relieving their loneliness. Corresponding briefing content: For customer needs such as “elderly people like to bless children and expect to increase their connection with them. Plants become a source of emotional connection, bringing a sense of purpose and companionship to the elderly. User friendly, simple and intuitive user interface”, this concept sets up user friendly and interactive functions to maintain customer emotional needs. This design aims to enrich the daily life of the elderly through intelligent interactive functions, guide them to actively face life, increase their connection with plants and descendants, improve their sense of achievement in plant care, and alleviate their loneliness. 2.Reminder system and battery chargingDesign highlight: Install light and humidity sensors to record the frequency of plant care for the elderly and provide reminders when necessary. Detachable rechargeable battery with a convenient charging port designed for the battery, providing charging reminders when the battery is low.How to use: The memory of the elderly is declining, and the reminder system is meaningful for the elderly. By sensing the user’s behavior, it provides necessary reminders to the user. The intelligent system of the flowerpot is powered by rechargeable batteries, eliminating the need to move the flowerpot or frequently replace the battery. Simply take the battery to the charger for charging, reducing user pressure.…
