Hello! My name is Astrid García de la Peña. I am 21 years old and I was born in Marbella, Málaga (in the south of Spain). At the moment im studying a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering at Tecnun, University of Navarra.
I chose this degree because I’ve always been very curious about how things work and why they are designed the way they are. In the end, everything (no matter how simple it may seem) has a person behind it who has dedicated time and effort to make it the best it can be, thinking about the end user and how to make someone’s life a little easier. I want to help people have a slightly easier day through the small details that make a difference.
When I decided what to study I thought that combining both degrees was the perfect way to achieve this, taking into account all the factors that are part of a product’s development and understanding them in depth.
In my free time (which isn’t much), I really enjoy spending time with the people who are important to me: my friends, my boyfriend, and my family. Since I’m studying far from home, in San Sebastián (in the north of Spain), I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like. Still, I’m really happy with the university I chose, and the city is beautiful (I’m leaving you some photos of a few sunsets).

Thank you very much for taking the time to read a bit about me 🙂

Hello! My name is María, I’m 20 years old and I’m currently studying Engineering in Industrial Design and Product Development at Tecnun, University of Navarra.
I decided to study this degree because I’ve always loved both maths and art, as well as different areas of design. When I discovered this degree, I realised it was the perfect combination for me. I’m a very organised person, and I enjoy exploring different fields related to design.
In my free time, I’ve always loved drawing and looking through magazines about interior design, fashion and cosmetics. During my time at university, I’ve worked on different academic projects, as well as some voluntary work. I’ve also collaborated with a design studio in San Sebastián, together with some classmates, to develop a product for their collection; and I took part in the redesign of an app for a medical company in Pamplona. Soon, I will be designing a jewellery collection for a local brand, which I’m really looking forward to.

Hej! My name is Marta and I’m 21 years old, I’m a Spanish design engineering and product development student. I’m also currently studying in Sweden for my Erasmus programme.
I chose this field because I’m curious and creative: I’m very observant and I like to wonder how things work, but also, my biggest passion is drawing and art. I found that this degree is the perfect balance between technical problem-solving and artistic expression.
My background in drawing and art has shaped the way I approach design challenges: I enjoy turning ideas into tangible concepts, combining aesthetics with functionality.

Outside of my studies, I love spending time on creative hobbies that keep me inspired. I enjoy ceramic making, where I can work with my hands and explore texture and form; drawing, which has always been my favorite way to express ideas and emotions; and playing video games, which not only helps me unwind but also inspires me through interactive storytelling and world-building.

Living and studying abroad has also been a big part of my personal growth, it’s given me new perspectives on design, culture, and collaboration, and continues to motivate me to keep learning and creating every day 🙂
I look forward to working with all of you, sharing ideas, learning from each other, and creating something great together!
