I have designed 3 different concepts I would like to share the one I have selected with you.

This design transforms the traditional medicine pouch into a modern, elegant piece of wearable jewelry. It serves as a personal vessel for small TCM items (herbal pills, balms, curated scent sachets) allowing the user to keep their wellness essentials close at hand. I also thought some elderly forget things so having their belongings with them at all times may help.
- Design
It is a locket or pendant, designed to be worn on a necklace. Its form is minimalist but still references the designs of traditional Chinese boxes and ornaments.
The pendant opens to reveal a customizable, compartmentalized insert. This allows users to organize a scented sachet on one side. This sachet can be attached by the string and changed easily. The other side can be used for pills or any medicinal products, and separated by compartments.
The opening mechanism is simple and secure, by a small click that is intuitive.
- Traditional Chinese Medicine integration
One of the modular inserts is a porous ceramic or wood capsule designed to hold concentrated essential oils or dried herbs. Small, subtle perforations in the pendant’s casing allow for a continuous, low-level diffusion of the therapeutic aroma throughout the day.
The use of materials like matte ceramic, jade-inspired resin, or polished wood aligns with TCM’s connection to natural elements, promoting a sense of balance and natural wellness.
- Familiarity and use
The pendant could vibrate gently at programmed times, serving as a discreet reminder for medication. This avoids a screen, maintaining the object’s aesthetic and symbolic design.
- Add-ons
The necklace includes a small attachment that can be connected to accessories like combs or massagers.
