Hello! I initially developed three main concepts for this project. After evaluating them carefully, I selected the one that I believe aligns best with the client’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
From the images you shared, I noticed that elderly users enjoy wearing the fragrant necklace and seem very pleased with that idea. Based on this insight, I decided to integrate additional functionalities into the design. In this concept, I included a pill box, a fragrance compartment, and an integrated massager. I also added a programmed alert system that indicates the correct time to take each medication. At the scheduled hour, a red light turns on to remind the user which pill to take, helping reduce confusion, prevent mistakes, and support memory challenges.
A wearable fragrant necklace designed for elderly users, elegant and comfortable, with integrated smart functionalities. The necklace includes a small pill box discreetly built into the pendant, a fragrance compartment that releases a pleasant scent, and a subtle integrated massager. The design features a programmed alert system: at the scheduled time, a soft red light glows on the pendant, indicating which pill should be taken. Show the elderly user wearing the necklace and looking happy and reassured, highlighting usability, safety, and emotional comfort.
Below is the main concept I selected:

The second concept, which we think is a little bit difficult because of the proper weight and portability of the box, is a pillbox designed with an integrated brush on the front, allowing it to be carried and used easily throughout the day without forgetting it. I included a reminder system that can either vibrate or emit a sound at the programmed time, along with light indicators showing exactly which pill should be taken. This approach adds an aesthetic element while ensuring the pillbox remains a practical and constant companion wherever the user goes.
A modern, portable pillbox with a sleek and minimal design. On the front, it features an integrated soft brush, making it look like an elegant daily-use accessory rather than a medical device. The pillbox includes small LED lights that illuminate to indicate the correct pill to take, and subtle elements suggesting vibration or sound alerts at scheduled times. The overall design should feel aesthetic, compact, and easy to carry, blending practicality with style. The setting can show the device being used during daily activities, emphasizing convenience and constant companionship.

And finally, the third concept is a wearable clip designed to be easily carried throughout the day. I integrated mini compartments for daily medications, along with a smart LED light system that clearly indicates which medication to take at the scheduled time. This design combines convenience, portability, and visual guidance, helping users manage their medication routine more easily.

I would love to hear your thoughts on these concepts. Your feedback will help us identify which elements resonate most with the users and the client, allowing us to focus on refining and further developing the chosen idea. Once we have your input, we can explore additional details, enhance the functionality, and ensure the design fully meets both practical and emotional needs. This way, we can move forward with confidence, creating a solution that is not only elegant and user-friendly but also genuinely improves the daily lives of elderly users.
Best regards,
-Fabiana
Fabiana, I’m very glad to see you uploaded your design ideas. I really like your first proposal—you’ve even taken the massage device for the elderly into consideration, and I also quite appreciate its appearance. The fluffy design can create a sense of closeness for the elderly.
Additionally, I wonder if the product will be equipped with a voice broadcast reminder function. I hope you can take this into account when adding more details later. Our professor mentioned in today’s meeting that you need to provide us with a final model by this Friday, so that we can proceed with subsequent work such as manufacturing the prototype and shooting user experience videos.
I’m looking forward to seeing your final design as soon as possible.
Hello, Fabi. This is Wang Zitong. I’m very glad to see your three proposals. From our perspective, each of them has its own unique advantages, making it difficult for us to make a choice. Tonight, we will upload a user feedback blog regarding your three design proposals, where you can gain a deeper understanding of our thoughts. Finally, I would like to know which of the three proposals you are more inclined to support.
Hello Zitong! Perfect, this is so helpful for us. We are also working in giving some feedbacks for your concepts, pros, cons and improvements. All the feedback given for us is very important for doing our final product.
