At the same time, the content will be read aloud through voice (although you may not be able to see it clearly, you can still hear it). Medication presentation: No need to operate, simply place the wristband close to the sensing area of the pharmacy checkout counter, and the staff can verify the prescription without printing or displaying their phone. Scheme 1: "Antu" Smart Guide for Seniors The product as a whole adopts a smooth oval contour with no sharp edges, which not only aligns with the elderly's visual and tactile preference for a 'soft' feel but also helps prevent accidental bumps. The line design is simple and streamlined, reducing complex decorations and lowering cognitive load for the elderly, allowing them to quickly recognize the product's shape and functional areas. Core Interaction Area: The long strip on the front of the product serves as the main operating module. Considering that elderly users may have less finger dexterity, the size of the operating area is designed to be relatively large, making it easier for them to touch or press accurately.核心交互区:产品正面的长条作为主要作模块。考虑到老年用户手指灵活性较差,作区设计得相对较大,便于他们准确触摸或按压。Auxiliary Prompt Area: The side of the product is the voice playback area, which can provide prompts for the elderly.辅助提示区:产品侧面是语音播放区,可以为老年人提供提示。 Scheme 2: Smart Health Guard The main body features a high-curvature rounded design, avoiding sharp edges. This not only reduces the risk of bumps and injuries but also conveys a warm and friendly visual impression, easing seniors' unfamiliarity with smart products. Physical Button Priority: Uses large, high-feedback physical buttons to replace complex touchscreen operations, allowing the elderly to trigger functions through 'blind pressing,' reducing the learning curve.Multi-Sensory Feedback: Button operations are accompanied by sound and vibration feedback to ensure that the elderly can clearly perceive the results of their actions, especially suitable for users with declining vision or hearing. Scheme 3: Elderly-Friendly Smart Health Bracelet Using a smooth, rounded design language combined with a skin-friendly wristband material, it prevents discomfort for elderly users and reduces the risk of bumps and injuries; the snap-on design (as shown in the wristband structure in the picture) is easy to operate, allowing the elderly to put on and take off the device independently. ... Abandon complex touch screen operations, focusing on physical buttons and voice feedback, with extremely simple operating logic (such as 'one-click consultation'), so that the elderly can use it without having to learn complicated steps. ...

Based on the customer's needs, we have developed 9 solutions aimed at simplifying the digital healthcare process for elderly people in Naples, with humanistic care as the core, allowing the elderly population to feel independent, safe, and inclusive. We solve these problems through a hybrid design of numbers and entities. Below is our conceptual design sketch Ziqi Chan’s Initial Design Concepts Scheme 1: Portable Stone-Messenger A lightweight information upload tool for elderly users, using "stones" as visual imagery to weaken the sense of alienation of technology products and adapt to groups with weaker operational capabilities. Users can use this product as a direct information transmission for spid, or complete the entire process of medical treatment on this compact product through voice input. Scheme 2: Sense-Identify-Link A portable tool that integrates identity authentication and medical services, focusing on simplifying the "identity verification online service" process for elderly users and lowering the threshold for digital medical operations. Elderly people can put their cards in their wallets or hang them on their bodies, and when they need to use them, they can recognize and sense them on the accompanying products. They can directly perform medical treatment and other operations on the electronic screen of the product Scheme 3: Expand-Ease Console A scalable operating tool that adapts to existing devices, designed to reduce the operational complexity of medical digitalization processes, focusing on the "low threshold interaction" needs of elderly users. Users can connect their mobile phones to the product and operate the medical process by expanding the simple button screen on the console. The console uses enlarged buttons and an easy to understand design, making it easy for the elderly to use.

International meeting

We kicked off with self-introductions, sharing our individual backgrounds, interests, and design philosophies. While language barriers initially posed minor challenges to communication, the overall atmosphere remained friendly and collaborative throughout the meeting. We delved into our team’s project brief—developing a pill organizer that motivates and reminds the elderly to adhere to regular medication schedules. Additionally, we probed into the usage difficulties associated with SPID (Italian Public Digital Identity System) and online medical prescriptions outlined in the project brief focused on Digital Inclusion for the Elderly in Naples, gaining deep insights into the daily hurdles faced by Italian seniors through targeted questions. The exchange of ideas between both sides on leveraging small yet meaningful product designs to enhance daily habits and health outcomes was highly illuminating. Moving forward, we will maintain communication via WeChat and plan our next meeting to share project advancements and design updates.
