Detailed design ideas prepared by Team 12 for Team 01 are shared in this post.<\/strong> Each team member focused on different aspects and created three unique design ideas, which are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please share any features you would like to see incorporated or omitted in the final design, along with your feedback and suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevra’s Ideas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Idea #1: Frame Shapes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, I decided to make a detailed geometric face analysis. Under this text, the analysis picture is given. It helped to understand the symmetrical face of our customer’s face, proportions, and contours, which is believed to be useful for eyeglass design. Here are the results and ideas that I gained after the analysis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Symmetry and Proportions<\/strong>: The lines and circles in the image highlight facial symmetry. A symmetrical face structure suggests a need for a symmetrical eyeglass frame. The soft, rounded facial contours indicate that a round or oval frame shape would be complementary. In addition, since the face is densely populated with round shapes, designing glasses with angular or straight lines that do not have very sharp lines can help balance the face.   2. Eye Positions and Nose Bridge<\/strong>: The circles around the eye centers help determine the optimal lens placement. The nose bridge width and height, marked in the image, guide the placement and adjustment of nose pads to ensure comfort. The measurement was already given by Yurui before, the details will be used in the design process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Facial Contours<\/strong>: The oval of the face becomes flatter in the chin area, and is compatible with the horizontal lines of the lips and eyes. At this point, glasses with horizontal lines that support this harmony can be created.

    As a Result<\/strong>: A design that supports the face shape and balances the features should be created with both round and straight lines. Also, since the eyebrows are less visible in the forehead area of \u200b\u200bthe face, a design with different colors on the top and bottom can be tried to fill the gap.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    Secondly, I started to support the ideas coming from the facial analysis by trying out different shaped eyeglasses positioned on our customer’s face and tried to observe which options could fit well the features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Here are two initial designs which Nevra decided to work on, and thought that might be applied which are supporting the face’s features. (We are open for other choices and additional advice as well.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Idea #2: Temples<\/strong>, an addition for hanging features not to loose!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Idea #3: Material Usage and Details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Material Usage:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Option 1:<\/strong> Ergonomic Silicone Frame Reading Glasses: A lightweight, round silicone frame with adjustable temples, designed for comfort and minimal pressure on the nose and ears. Reflects the grandfather’s style with coffee and gray tones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Option 2: <\/strong>Frame and the temples made from durable, lightweight metal material (e.g., titanium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Option 3:<\/strong> Blue light protection progressive reading glasses might be uses for the glass material. Progressive lenses with blue light filtering for digital device use, adaptable to various tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Design Concept 1 : Elderly-Friendly Glasses with Adjustable LED-Enhanced Stand<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Objective:<\/strong>
    In this design solution idea,\u0131 prioritized usability and convenience for elderly users, helping them easily locate, store, and protect their glasses in a way that fits seamlessly into their daily routines. The aim is to reduce the risk of glasses being misplaced, scratched, or damaged, especially in low-light environments, while offering a design that feels timeless and refined.<\/p>\n\n\n

      The glasses are accompanied by a unique stand with adjustable height and angle settings, allowing users to customize its positioning to their preference. Integrated LED lights provide a subtle glow, making it easier to locate the glasses in dim or dark environments. This not only enhances accessibility but also serves as a gentle guide to help elderly users find their glasses quickly, particularly at night or in low-visibility settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Protective, Magnetic Attachment:<\/strong>
      The glasses attach to the stand via a magnetic component, ensuring they rest securely in place. This feature minimizes the chance of misplacement, accidental drops, or scratches. The magnet’s placement is carefully aligned so that the glasses naturally \u201csnap\u201d into the correct position, making storage both simple and intuitive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. USB Charging for Convenience:<\/strong>
      The stand is powered via USB, ensuring easy recharging and low maintenance. A long-lasting battery allows the LED lights to remain operational for extended periods, adding a layer of safety and reliability for elderly users without frequent recharging needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Timeless Aesthetic with Traditional Influences:<\/strong>
      I tried a classic, refined look that resonates well with elderly users. Elements like golden accents and wood details provide a warm, traditional touch, lending the design an elegant feel that aligns with the aesthetics often appreciated by older generations maybe with some cultural touches with colours and patterns. I think using this approach of modern technology with classic styling can create a product that feels familiar yet advanced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Visualizations:<\/strong>
      Visualizations, through my sketches and AI renderings with different material,colour and design approaches which \u0131 thought would be good for this design,\u0131 mainly used wooden material for the base of the stand and black,brown colours for glasses body combined with golden details which \u0131 thought would match the taste of th elederyly people while adding a modern touch.Here are the renderings and my sketch:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      Easy-to-Find Glasses with Audible Aler<\/strong>t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Glow-in-the-dark frames: Drawing from his habit of placing glasses securely, glow-in-the-dark frames are ideal for ensuring he can quickly find his glasses, even in a dim room. As he tends to leave his glasses in the same spot, this feature would help him locate them in darker environments without stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


        Audible locator system: To add convenience for someone organized like him, an audible locator triggered by a remote or app can be integrated. Since he values order, a wireless locator connected to different rooms would allow him to locate misplaced glasses quickly without disrupting his routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


        Comfort: He spends long periods reading and drawing, so silicone nose pads and ear hooks are designed to provide long-term comfort without leaving marks, ideal for his lifestyle.
        Blue light protection: As he uses his phone and reads regularly, blue light protection can prevent eye strain and enhance his overall reading experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


        Design Concept:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Considering his taste for refined objects like his coffee-colored glasses case, the minimalistic design of GlowFind aligns with his aesthetic preferences, combining elegance with functionality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • The audible locator should be non-intrusive and compatible with his home setup. The frames can have classic colors like silver gray or coffee brown, similar to his current glasses style, ensuring a seamless integration into his routine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
