During the creation of this lounge chair, I was inspired by the story of Frida Kahlo, who kept drawing even when she couldn’t get out of bed.
Drawing is very useful for patients with dementia, but to paint, you have to sit a lot. On the example of this strong woman, we see that any obstacles must and can be overcome.
Special longue chair will help patients to do useful creativity, and the universal shape allows it to be located in the house, in the park, on the veranda, anywhere. It was also a requirement of our customer.
This is the best design that meets our requirements: A piece of furniture, object or space that can help people with dementia to stimulate their minds or help them in their everyday tasks.
With this design not only people with this disease can relax and lay down, but also they can stimulate their mind while painting. Moreover, they are able to relax on their own and express their creativity, giving them sense of freedom, which is exactly what we were aiming for.
